  1. John Duvall says:

Good Show!! Keep up the good work! I like the new social media tips. Where do I buy your book?

  2. Thomas Sully says:

    Hello,

The last 3 shows, including ep 210, won’t sync to my ipod or apple tv, I get an error message that says it can’t be played on the Apple TV. Any ideas? I’m just using the iTunes h.264 feed.

  3. Amber Mac says:

    @John - you can pre-order my book here - http://www.powerfriending.com - thx!

@Thomas - not sure what is up, but we’ll look into it.

    THX for watching ;).

I wish you a great deal of success with your new book — may it be a sellout — and I am looking forward to the new segment, powerfriending ? on commandN.

@Brian: Glad you liked the iPad review - tried to cover some things that haven’t been discussed as much, as well as conveying a bit the experience of use. Nice website you have, btw!

    Thanks for watching, everyone!

    Jeff

  9. Great show, I like the social media tip!

  10. Saltydawg says:

    Great show as always everybody.
I have to say I’m not a fan of the iPad, I understand it’s uses but for me it’s not practical, for what it is, it’s too expensive but Apple will sure clean up plus all the apps that will be sold but I guess that’s the point. Jeff can you jailbreak the iPad like one can with the iPhone and iPod/Touch? Just curious about that. I have a MacBook(which I’m very happy with) a PC and a iPod/Touch, that’s enough for me.

  11. Moochie says:

Sorry! I’m a cashed-up 60-y-o and I think iPhone and iPad are pieces of next year’s iJunk–to be disposed of, hopefully in a thoughtful manner.

Jobs ought to get with the times–no Flash = no deal.

    Sheesh!

  12. jeff says:

Not sure about jailbreaking iPads at all - just haven’t checked. Anyone else on here know?

Again, it’s one of those things you need to use a bit to get a real feel for. For me, it’s great, but it’ll be great for plenty of 60-somethings, too :-) (I know both my folks would use it more than a laptop if it were set up for them).

The iPhone is already hugely influential (look at the mobile browser share stats - it’s changing how people behave on their “phones”) and I’m confident the iPad will follow in the same footsteps. If that means you’re buying a great touchscreen phone or tablet from someone other than Apple in the future, and waiting for the market to mature, then that’s totally cool. If it’s not the type of product you’re interested in then that’s another thing entirely (but I don’t think most people get what it is as a product yet, either).

Anyway, time will tell - thanks for watching!

    Jeff

  13. Amber Mac says:

THX Chris - we’re going to tweak it as we go, but wanted to get it started up!

    -Amber

  14. Martin McKay says:

Like Thomas Sully, I too have not been able to view recent shows on my Apple TV using the H264 download. I have just tried the MPEG4 format and this works fine. Which is the preferred format for the Apple TV?

    Martin (London UK)

  15. Great podcast as usual, I’m looking forward to reading the book this summer. Keep up the excellent work.

  16. jeff says:

@Martin/@Sully: Just checking on the Apple TV problems with this ep - will post a response as soon as I figure it out.

    Thanks for letting us know!

    Jeff

  17. damn good advice and sharing,I will buy one beautiful Ipad for me .thanks,Joe

  18. June 17th my ipad will be on its way! Us Australians had to wait a very long time.. It feels like we are in the Third Apple World.

I’ve already scanned in all my old paperwork and manuals using my SnapScan. Got rid of any books that I can get on PDF. (thats my excuse for winter (Aus) cleanup.)

In theory the iPad will be my complete Book and Document storage. Living on the cutting edge!

    Daeta.
