As we mention during the show, please post other ways to donate in the comments. Also, this photo on the homepage is courtesy of the American Red Cross.
Making a donation via text message is very safe, fast, and secure, as long as you make sure to use the right address. It may take a few minutes to get the confirmation and reply messages, but don’t give up on them! The good news is that they’re collecting so many donations that it can take some time for the computers to go through them all.
I don’t know about other carriers, but AT&T is not waiting for your bill payment, but is sending your pledge to the American Red Cross immediately. So, your donation quickly reaches the people who need it.
And, it’ll show up on your statement as a charitable contribution, for those who can take advantage of that on yearly tax statements.
Gracias por la informaci?n. He encontrado tu web en Yahoo hoy. Esta es una buena p?gina. Creo que voy a Venir de nuevo.?Alguien sabe de donde puedo Comprar Ordenador ?

Hopefully all this monetary help will be followed up by leadership to help these people succeed in running their own affairs. Immediate basic needs aside, Haiti needs a new government and system of operation. Rebuilding will fail without reform and the world’s goodwill will be for naught.
I haven’t had a chance to watch 203 yet, but my money and my recommendation go to Catholic Relief Services, http://www.crs.org. I didn’t see it on the lists, but it is efficient and highly rated by the various charity watchdogs. It was also already on the ground in Haiti.
As for discontinuing rescue efforts, it’s not as if they won’t rescue people if there’s evidence of them, but resources are extremely limited just now, and the hope is to keep alive those who have already been rescued. It’s a hard decision to have to make.
Thanks for the information. ANother place that donations can be made is through ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency). For more information please visit http://www,adra.org

Thanks!
PS: And thanks for watching and all the helpful comments - totally agree, Bruno, glad to help “Saying I’m sorry”, and thanks for the tips Hans and Brandon!
The web site I list http://www.freemethodistchurch.org/ is the home site of the church I attend. All donations given to the church will be given 100% to the people in Haiti as stated on the site.
That’s odd, Drew, because I got 203 in h.264 through iTunes yesterday (Wednesday).
Okay, here’s a story not tech particularly, though it is an application of it though blogging, but it’s also got a link to Canada and Haiti relief, so I thought you might be interested in it. It’s the blog-site of a self-financed group of medical and other types called ‘Team Rubicon’ (the reference is to the river that Caesar crossed) who got into Haiti even before the military did.
Have you ever considered adding more videos to your blog posts to keep the readers more entertained? I mean I just read through the entire article of yours and it was quite good but since I’m more of a visual learner.
I thought you might be interested in this story about a Man Pulled From Rubble in Haiti Nearly 4 Weeks After Earthquake.
FEBRUARY 9, 2010, 9:50 A.M. ET
By JOEL MILLMAN and DAVID GAUTHIER-VILLARS
PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti—A 28-year-old man was pulled from the rubble of a market in Port-au-Prince on Monday and has been admitted to the University of Miami’s field hospital in the capital, adjacent to the airport, according to hospital officials.
It isn’t clear how long the man, whose first name is Evans, was trapped, the officials said. The man appeared disoriented; he said someone had brought him water while he was trapped.

For Canadians wanting a little more info, Revenue Canada has a page set up specifically for the Haiti Earthquake. You’ll find it here: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/whtsnw/tms/rthqk-haiti-eng.html
Also, CBC has a page set up with charities involved with Haiti Relief: http://www.cbc.ca/haitirelief/
Hope this helps.
