  2. Jerry says:

    Hi Amber,
Great episode. I have a comment about this web page, it looks fine on IE but when I open it in Safari it’s a little messed up. Is it just on my end?

  3. ambermac says:

We’ll check ‘er out in Safari! THX!

  4. ctrflowers says:

Another great episode! The Onion video is hilarious…”I’ll buy almost anything if it’s shiny and made by Apple!”

To Jeff: I did up a blog entry yesterday on how you can stream content from sites like Hulu, Teletoon, etc. to your HDTV by installing Boxee on an Apple TV. Thought you might be interested for your decabled segment. The blog entry and the link to the step by step guide can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/95yps4

  5. ctrflowers says:

@Jerry: I just tried out the site in Safari and it’s working perfectly in mine.

  6. Al says:

Not buffering far enough ahead and stops for about 10 seconds every 10 or 15 seconds. Using Firefox 3 on a Macbook.

  7. First visit ever on CommandN, so I never used the old website, but this works great!

I got a Nokia n800, which download is best you think (when they become available again)?

  8. jeff says:

Jerry: Looks okay for me too on Safari - can you tell us specifically what looks messed on your end (or maybe it’s fixed itself)?

ctrflowers:That’s great - thanks for the link. I’m assuming you’re operating from the US but would love to know if this works from Canada (part of the problem accessing Hulu, etc., through set-top boxes in Canada is the inability, as far as I know, to install Hotspot Shield or some other method of spoofing a US IP)?

Al: That buffering problem is probably on the Blip.tv side but anyone should let us know if they continue to experience problems.

Emmanuel Losier: Welcome! Not sure which would be best for Nokia - the best quality is our H264 version, though.

    Thanks for watching!

    Jeff

  9. Another great one…….thanks guys.

  10. Congrats on the new site. I love the FaceBook Connect functionality. Good choice.

  11. Jerry says:

    Hi Jeff,
I just checked it again and it’s the same on my end. The page opens up with the top and bottom of the page is fine but the video and comment area(centre page) is far to the right and all blank(centre page)on the left. All other web pages that I frequent are fine. Not sure why this is like this but from other peoples comments I guess it’s a issue on my end. Thanks for the reply.

  12. jeff says:

Must be - looks fine to me. Try Safari->Empty Cache and then reload/restart your browser. Hopefully that helps (maybe it cached a version where Aaron was in mid-change in the backend or something).

Anyone else having a problem with Safari?

    Jeff

  13. commandn says:

@Jerry - I’d like to see a screenshot if you could post it somewhere or send it to one of us (check the contact us page). And which version of Safari are you using? Any special tweaks to the Appearance (font sizing) in Safari preferences?

  14. ambermac says:

Remember…if you have a web pick and want to send us a YouTube or video link, we’ll be including them in the show in 2009!
    -Amber

  15. Jeff: Hope your little ones will be able to find Dora, Little Bear and Max & Ruby now that you are decabled. Or at least you can get used to having to watch them on web
Amber : CommandN throws out so many shiny objects to follow I had to get http://rescuetime.com to make me more productive. Maybe this is a good pick

  16. Paul Jordan says:

Great show guys. I found a cool art creation tool online…if your masterpiece is cool enough it will make to the front page. Check out http://www.myoats.com/ to get your Rembrandt on!

  17. Another great episode and the site looks great!

Also thank you for putting up a donate area, have been looking for that for awhile.

Thanks for the great links - myoats.com is very cool!

  20. Steve Winkworth says:

Do you still do the shownotes for links mentioned on the show?
    Love the show.

  21. jeff says:

STEVE: Top right of the page is the show notes area - on a kind of “tan” background with the little thumbnail pics beside each set of segment links.

Paul Jordan: myoats is really cool!

Robert Metras: Have come across some of those and will check out the others - feel free to post links on http://www.decabled.com .

    Thanks for watching,

    Jeff

  26. There is something wrong with the video stream, somehow in the middle, it stops and I can’t see the rest.

Please check it ’cause I’m eager to se the episode.

    Cheers!

  27. Mike Snow says:

I just got around to watching this episode (it’s been a busy week) and I flipped over to wtso.net per Jeff’s recommendation and it looks like the advertisement server they are connecting to has been hacked as they try to load malware. Ok just flipped over there again and it seems OK but then I refreshed and it is there again so it appears to be random - embedded in the advertisements. Just an FYI for folks.

  28. Great site gang. Props to everyone who worked on it.
Question for you Jeff or anyone else who might know. Are there any sites that I can get my old school cartoon fix from? And by old school i’m saying 60s to 80s. I’ve been to some sites that talk about and have small clips, but i’ve not seen full episodes.
    Thanks in advance!
    Keep up the good work!

    JG

  29. ambermac says:

@Juan - are you still having this problem? Seems to be ok for most of us.
    -Amber

  30. Ranceman says:

I was able to see this episode stream in it’s entirety with Safari as my browser, OSX 105.6, latest flash player, powerbook 1.67 GHz 17″. No interruptions or crashes with it. Don’t know if that’s any use to you Amber but new site looks great!

  31. jeff says:

Mike Snow: Thanks very much for the warning - we’ll take this link out of our show notes.

John Gutierrez: Will definitely post on http://www.decabled.com if I find some good retro cartoon sites (there is some of this content on http://www.Hulu.com if you can get at that).

    Thanks,

    Jeff

  32. Tony Nutter says:

Off topic, but you guys need a piece of Facebook flair for commandN. I was going to try and make one, but could not find a clean logo to use. Just an idea. I would love to add your flair to my collection.

  33. ambermac says:

    What is FB flair?
    -Amber

  34. Mike says:

This episode motivated me to bring my favorite old 90’s era Microsoft ergonomic split keyboard home from work and run it through the dishwasher. I was just going to run the whole thing through but I decided to dismantle it for fun and just wash the keys, shell, and cord in the machine. Washed the other parts by hand in the sink. Now that it’s pristine looking I’ll have to get all OCD about keeping it clean.
Great JoCo song choice for the credits!
